Carolin Rechberg is an interdisciplinary Fine Artist born in Germany. She has exhibited, lived and travelled internationally. Carolin holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the California College of the Arts, a Master of Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute, where she was a Teaching Assistant in advanced Drawing and Painting. She further received a scholarship and completed a Master of Art and Art Education from Teachers College Columbia University. Simultaneously she worked as studio manager for the printmaking studio, whilst being a Teaching Assistant for Etching, Lithography, Woodcut and Silkscreen.
Carolin´s journey, to use art as a means to comprehend, express and reflect on life, started at a young age. Many impacts in her life have emphasised the importance of sensual perception. Her interdisciplinary work sets value in the experience and process, in both art and living.
The work is informed by the encounter of the senses in gesture. Conscious use of material, colour, composition, dimension, perspective, scale, and texture, stimulate an awareness of presence and nurtures potential.
Carolin Rechberg considers her body of work a Gesamtkunstwerk. In response to content, situation and space, the work results in a cyclical communication of different mediums from drawing, installation, painting, performance, photography, printmaking, sculpture, writing or voice.
